I’ll try to link to other posts I’ve made about this…
When I saw blood, I immediately started crying. I was 13 and a half years old at the time; it was July 2020 during my maternal uncle's son's wedding.
It was only in June 2020 that I had learned what periods actually were.
That day, when i got my periods, I cried the entire day. My mom explained to me that it was normal and everything.
The most surprising part?
I didn't even know how to use sanitary pads properly for a whole year. Due to the lack of education about periods, I faced leakage many times. So, of course, those were some of the worst days of my life.
It’s a deeply personal and relatable story, and i wrote it to highlight the importance of proper menstrual education.
The question is in trending so i thought to write it 💫
