詩 Water

In inexorable way-wending
lies my task of day-bending
no bottle holds you
for later spending

There is only now
to dam your flow
divert your course
while you yet nourish
the flower of youth

That one day
when mighty depths
cut no more valleys
and trickle burbles
over rocks and shallows
of old age
fish shall gambol
and today's sapling
grow to give shade
where once your torrents
lavished cool and fruit
to steal each day
a few drops of your power
and put them to some use.
