模倣子 Untranslatable Words and Magical Linguistic Thinking

Translation is impossible?

This is of course a thing I get into with one of my Xtian-fanatic buddies who asserts that even though "translation" is effectively impossible, the "translation" of scripture can somehow be magically exactly the same "will/law of 'God'" in two different languages because either "it was divinely inspired" or "the (holy, anointed) translators who originally did it" "knew more" than that guy (or you).

Fun homework: spot the logical fallacies present there.

Happy Hint: a possible way to avoid exasperation with ignorami and idiots may be to never become an expert in anything. That might actually be easier than it sounds. Hey, since I can say that in words, I can string together words that somehow paint a satisfactory picture to a hypothetical native speaker, then "don't be an expert in anything" must automatically be a thing, and it must be possible, and it must also be a perfect solution to the "problem" that I have also laid down in words. Hey, language is magic after all, so why the heck not?
