Memetics Index
He makes the point, one which I and friends have made elsewhere, that so-called feminism hurts poorer women and women of color.
It occurs to me that it may be yet another “normalization of excessive wealth” memeplex. This is so that wealthy, privileged women can act in society more openly, without being seen as weird or irrelevant by people with normal issues. This is the same as the “folksification” of billionaires, for example.
He describes tradwives as rich women “cosplaying”, rather like Marie Antoinette’s Petit Trianon.
It could also be a memeplex that drags poor women into the workforce, which is kind of “as advertised”, but as he said, work is often no fun, takes up all of our time, and places our lives under the close control of an unsympathetic other. One of the many dreams that has not born fruit is that women joining this milieu would make it less cruel, either because women would bring their own brand of kindness, or that the same cruelty visited now upon women would give pause, but alas.
